Resonance with Divinity: Easter and the Quiet Journey of Renewal
Reflection · Easter 2026
By Dr. Anupama Vaidya (hc)
Easter has always held a special place in my soul. More than a celebration, it feels like a sacred journey — one that begins in introspection, deepens through surrender and silence, and ultimately arrives at hope, renewal, and new life.
Perhaps this connection was shaped early — through my years in a convent school, through dear friends who observed this season with devotion, and in recent years, through Sunita's deeply enriching presence in my life. Over time, this period from Ash Wednesday through Lent and Easter has come to feel not merely like a period in the calendar, but a gentle and profound inner pilgrimage.
During this Lenten period, several conversations with Sunita have been naturally flowing towards taking a pause and looking within — reflecting on what must be shed, what must be strengthened, and what must be surrendered. Maundy Thursday reminding us of humility, love, and service; Good Friday drawing us into the depth of suffering, sacrifice, and faith. Holy Saturday, wrapped in stillness and waiting, teaches us one of life's hardest lessons — to remain trusting even when light has not yet returned. And then Easter dawns, bringing with it the timeless assurance that after darkness, grace returns; after pain, life rises again.
That is what gives Easter its deep emotional and spiritual significance for me. It is a season that speaks quietly yet powerfully of redemption, resilience, and the strength to move through life with faith.
Renewal is often quiet, but certain. Change may be difficult, but sacred. And hope has a way of returning, even after the harshest season.
There is also something profoundly symbolic in the Easter landscape itself — the blossoming spring, the gentle return of colour after winter's starkness, the soft promise of life re-emerging. Nature seems to echo the very message of Easter: that renewal is often quiet, but certain; that change may be difficult, but sacred; and that hope has a way of returning, even after the harshest season.
Over the past few years, this journey from Lent to Easter has taken on even deeper meaning for Sunita and me. Our reflections through this sacred period gradually evolved into what we came to call O.U.R. P.R.A.Y.E.R.S. — not merely as words, but as a lived framework for healing, growth, endurance, grace, and realignment with the divine within. It begins with O.U.R. — the inner foundation of openness, wisdom, and radiance — and unfolds through P.R.A.Y.E.R.S., the lived practice that sustains us through each season of life.
Together, O.U.R. P.R.A.Y.E.R.S. becomes a quiet path of inner evolution. It reminds us that Easter is not only about resurrection as a sacred story, but also about our own rising — from heaviness to hope, from fear to faith, from weariness to renewal. It calls us not toward perfection, but toward presence; not toward performance, but toward truth.
Wishing you and your loved ones a deeply meaningful, peaceful, and joy-filled Easter.
