#MightyMe : Empowering Change, One Life at a Time.
By Anupama Vaidya
As we honor the essence of womanhood within each of us this International Women's Day, we celebrate our strength, resilience and limitless impact we create
This year felt especially powerful as I immersed myself in the energy of diverse, strong, and unstoppable women and allies across organizations. Experiencing three unique gatherings in a single day was more than a celebration — it was a journey of learning, inspiration, and reflection that continues to shape my perspective and my path forward.
As we came together to mark International Women’s Day, I shared my perspective across these moments of connection, reflection, and empowerment. And now, I share it with you.
💜💜💜
Today is not just about marking
Women’s day; it is about honoring, celebrating and embracing the very essence
of womanhood - a journey woven with privilege, responsibility, unwavering
strength, and boundless grace.
One tiny chromosome makes the difference, shapes an entire identity, an entire experience, an entire purpose. And yet today is about more than biology. It’s about what we do with this gift.
|| We lead, nurture, and inspire || We rise, transform, and empower ||
Today, we pause not to seek validation but to reflect on the mountains we have climbed, the battles we have fought, and the victories — big & small — we have achieved. It’s about recognising the fire, the grace, the unshakable spirit that makes each of us a #MightyMe.
Beyond the celebrations, it is a call to action – to own our power of womanhood, as within every man, there is a woman, and within every woman, there is a man. True empowerment lies in embracing this harmony, recognizing that our shared humanity transcends biological distinctions, and celebrating the qualities that make us whole.
It is a moment to reaffirm our commitment to empowering womanhood in each of us, to thrive, flourish, and shine.
Proud. Grateful. Honored. To be a
Woman. 💜 #MightyMe
The
Essence of #MightyMe: What Differentiates Us
If I were to define, through my own
life and experiences, I've come to see that five defining
qualities shape the uniqueness of womanhood. Each with its profound strength, yet each comes with its own challenges, resting refining and ultimately empowering us.
And through it all, we don’t just
survive — we rise. We don’t just exist — we shape. We don’t just follow —we
lead.
That to me is the essence of #MightyMe.
💜 Womanhood is about Giving
Giving is woven intricately in women - both by nature and nurture – to uplift and to give. We support everything around us and ensure it thrives.
⚡Our strength: We give boundlessly deep rooted love. Women pour our time, energy, love, and often even our
dreams into others, ensuring they flourish. Women are the silent foundation upon which countless
lives are built.
⚠ Our challenge - Giving often comes at a cost. Like a tree that gives shade, fruits,
and shelter selflessly, womanhood gives without hesitation and without expecation. Yet, even the strongest
tree needs nourishment - water, sunlight, and rich soil - to continue thriving.
Without it, the roots weaken, the leaves wither, and eventually, the tree can
no longer stand tall.
In
the pursuit of caring for others, we often forget to care for ourselves. We
push aside our aspirations, our health, and our peace of mind, believing that
giving is our "dharma and karma" — without realizing that we, too, need replenishment. Giving without pause, without rest, and without self-care finds herself drained—physically, emotionally, and mentally.
💡Gentle reminder – Giving is beautiful, but giving to
ourselves is essential. Just as the tree must absorb nutrients to keep bearing
fruit season after season, we as women must replenish ourselves to continue giving. Let’s remember:
We are not just nurturers of others — we must also be nurturers of ourselves.
(And let’s be honest, when we are exhausted and stretched too
thin, we don’t even bring our best selves to those moments. We may be
physically present, but mentally drained, unable to give the quality of
attention and love that truly matters.)
So today, let’s redefine giving—not as sacrifice, but as
balance.
Because when a woman thrives, everyone around her flourishes.
💜
💜Women are Resilient.
If there is one defining quality of womanhood, it is
resilience. It is the quiet strength that allows us to adapt, rise, and keep
moving forward—no matter the circumstances.
Like a phoenix that emerges from the ashes, stronger and
more radiant, we woman reinvent ourselves through every phase of life.
When I reflect on my own journey,
I see resilience as the very thread that has carried me — from a young girl
navigating education and career, to a mother balancing home and work, to facing
life-altering events, to now passing down wisdom and traditions. As Falguni
Desai in her book names my chapter as “Weaving Strength through Adversity”, if
it weren’t for this very resilience as a part of my womanhood DNA, I would have
let life happen to me, rather than rising to meet it.
⚡Our strength: We bounce back
stronger from every challenge - whether it is personal, professional, or
societal - because resilience is not just something we possess; it is something womanhood embodies. The silent, steady strength holds families together, fortifies
organizations, and fuels communities.
We endure, evolve, excel - not because we must, but because that is who we are.
No book, no lesson, no words can
truly capture the depth of resilience of womanhood!
⚠ Our challenge: Resilience is
often taken for granted. The world expects women to endure everything - stress,
inequality, overwork - without complaint. Too often, resilience is seen as an
obligation rather than a choice, and we are left to bear the weight of
expectations alone.
💡Gentle reminder - Resilience
should be a choice, not a burden. It is a strength that should be valued, not
exploited. And Strength doesn’t mean
carrying it all alone.
So today, let’s redefine
resilience — not as silent endurance, but as the power to set boundaries, ask
for support, and choose when to be strong and when to rest.
Because a resilient woman is not
one who never breaks, but one who knows when to stand tall and when to lean on
others. 💜
💜 Women are Multi-dimensional
Just as Goddess Durga, the divine embodiment of power and grace, depicted with multiple
hands - each carrying a weapon or a blessing, ready to protect, nurture and
lead, we women are a perfect symbol of the ability to balance countless
responsibilities – seamlessly shifting between roles, effortlessly holding
together the world around us.
⚡Our strength: We are never just one thing, We are "Everything". We don’t just juggle tasks; we weave them into a
harmonious rhythm. Our brains are wired for multi-tasking, intuitively and
instinctively navigating the complexities of life with thought and grace.
Our ability to adapt, innovate and manage multiple responsibilities make us a force to be reckoned with. We move fluidly between roles - comforting a
child, leading a boardroom, mentoring a colleague, building a home, shaping a
vision. We don’t just wear many hats; we own every role that we step into.
⚠ Our challenge: In the pursuit of doing it all, we often lose
ourselves. Juggling multiple
roles is admirable, but carrying the weight of them all alone is exhausting.
The world expects a "do it all" - until we stretch ourselves too thin.
💡Gentle Reminder: It is okay
to ask for help. It is okay to pause. It is okay to say NO. Being
multi-dimensional does not mean being limitless - it means knowing when to
give, when to lead, and when to rest.
So today,
let’s redefine multi-dimensional strength — not as doing everything alone, but
as knowing when to share the load.
Because a
woman’s true power lies not just in how much she can handle, but in how wisely
she chooses to protect her own well-being. 💜
💜 Women are Silent
Change-Makers
We are like the river
carving our path through solid rock. The river does not roar, or announce its
strength, yet over time, it transforms landscapes, shapes valleys and nourishes
life. The impact of womanhood is much the same – quiet, steady, and profoundly powerful and
undeniably transformative.
Without spotlight, without noise, without demanding attention, without seeking praise, womanhood leads with the quiet determination.
⚡Our strength: The silent impact every day around that changes the course of
history. Womanhood do not demand credit; rather creates legacies.
⚠ Our challenge: Too often, contributions remain unseen, unspoken, and undervalued. Work is expected,
not acknowledged; sacrifices assumed and not appreciated.
💡 Gentle reminder: Silence
should not mean invisibility. Strength does not have to be measured by volume.
So today, let’s acknowledge ourselves and each other. Let’s celebrate the women
who shape, support, and uplift - often without applause.
So today, Let’s recognize, amplify, and
celebrate women’s voices - not just today, but every day.
Because a woman’s power is not in
how loudly she speaks, but in how profoundly she influences the world around
her. 💜
💜 Women Are Storytellers and
Keepers of Wisdom
We are master
weavers; intricately threading stories, experiences, and wisdom into the fabric
of life.
Every conversation, every lesson,
every moment of guidance we offer is a thread that strengthens the tapestry of
families, communities, and generations to come. (grandma stories!)
We weave together the past, the
present, and the future—preserving traditions, passing down values, and shaping
narratives that define the world. Our words are not just spoken; they are
stitched into hearts, carried through time, and lived out in actions.
Even in a world driven by
technology and fleeting conversations, the stories we tells — whether at a bedside, in a classroom,
or at a boardroom table — remain timeless, offering lessons that no textbook
can truly capture.
These stories shape our
perspectives, nurture our moral compass, and connect us to our roots.
⚡Our strength: Whether
through a bedtime story, a boardroom discussion, or a heartfelt conversation, a
woman has the power to inspire, teach, and influence. She holds within her the
wisdom of countless generations before her, adding her own insights to shape
the future of families, businesses, and societies.
⚠Our challenge: Too often,
women’s stories go unheard, their wisdom unrecognized. Their experiences are
either documented through someone else’s lens or overshadowed by louder voices. The knowledge they
carry — gained through struggles, triumphs, and quiet resilience — often
remains unspoken or undervalued.
💡Gentle
Reminder: A woman’s story is her power. It deserves to be told
in her own voice, with her own truth. Whether she is teaching a child,
mentoring a colleague, or advocating for change, her words and experiences
shape the world.
So today, let’s redefine the storytelling and wisdom — not as just recounting history, but as creating it.
Because when a woman owns her
narrative, she doesn’t just share wisdom — she sparks transformation. 💜
💜The Unstoppable Force of #MightyMe
Women are not just participants in
history; we are its architects. We give, we endure, we create, we transform, we
lead - often silently, yet always powerfully.
From the quiet strength of a
caregiver to the unwavering vision of a leader, from the resilience of a mother
to the strategic brilliance of a decision-maker, every woman carries within her
the power to shape the world.
But today is not just about recognizing
that power — it is about owning it.
It is about understanding that
giving should not mean self-sacrifice, resilience should not mean silent
suffering, and multitasking should not mean bearing the weight alone. It is
about redefining our strengths on our own terms, breaking free from expectations,
and stepping fully into our greatness.
So today, and every day, let’s
amplify our voices, lift each other up, and move forward with the conviction
that we are not just contributors to change — we are the change.
Because when a woman rises, she doesn’t rise alone — she lifts generations with her.
Wishing you a #MightyMe on this International Women's Day! 💜
