The next few hours tick, the clock will strike midnight, the calendar will change its date to 30th, and with a feeling of contentment, I will bring in my Golden Jubilee, celebrate my 50 years of “Being”, ! So precious in this wonderful gift of life…
With deepest gratitude to my Aai, I will revel this wonderful milestone of ours together!!!
Aai, Mumma, Ma… my mother, an epitome of simplicity, innocence and grace! Coming into the world as a live soul was destined to me, the blessing came to my soul to be given this gift of life and being born to such a wonderful woman in Aai!
Ma, God can’t be there physically, so he made mothers, and you are THE example of why God made a mother ! My mother… a divine feeling to have you as my Ma.
Aai, no words that I write today can express the feelings that I am so overwhelmed with, languages will fall short to provide me the expression, and the only way I can really express myself, is by giving you that one big hug … … The warmth of feeling for each other as we celebrate this wonderful day !
Your unconditional love…putting me before your own-self, (when I wanted to shift for my career break, you and baba, did not even think twice and moved cities, giving up your own life of 40 years, and being there for me and Ishita! – just one small example in loads and loads of things you’ve been doing)
Standing by me every moment, and the one who I an count on every moment! (in my major decisions of life, just that word “Amhi tujhya pathishi aahot ani tujhya sathi nemich aahot!”, your expression and baba’s presence to support your thoughts and really demonstrating it through every action, I am so blessed to have parents in you and Baba, your mindfulness and Baba’s complete belief in you; I couldn’t have steered through life without your being what you are and being there every moment s a rock solid support.
Ma, I am because of you… … … your strength to be with me is unparalleled… … … you encouraged and invested in my mental and emotional development, you nurtured the potential in me, encouraged me through my education (which of course is the greatest mutual fund saving you did)… … transitioning so beautifully from being a mother to being a friend…… through these years of growing… …
You dedicated yourself to build me & rebuild me… bring me life, not once but twice … … once when you gave me birth 50 years ago; and the second time, when I separated and moved back with Ishita, to be with you and Baba, to figure out life all over again… … your presence, your being there, your every word of guidance, your sensing the emotional upheavals that I was going through and being able to be my sounding board, helping me see through different perspectives, challenging my thoughts and bringing me back to life again…
Being posed with the unique role of being a mother and a grandmother simultaneously to Ishita… … a tough one I should say, I couldn’t have raised her without you and Baba, to be such a wonderful being. Her flourishing today, is Ma, dedicated to you and to Baba, to your wonderful nurturing, caring and investing your every moment into her and me while I was getting life back on track.
Ma, you provided the perfect ambience and the environment for us to flourish as a family, the love, care … instilled the most beautiful values of respect, generosity, faith and purpose… you demonstrated this through every action of yours…. With such a loving smile of your always… Observed through years of growing up, the enthusiasm with which you would ensure everyone who came home, at any hour, were so well taken care off, with the quick and swift way to make such sumptuous meals at any hour of the day for everyone who visited… You truly live the saying “Athiti Devo Bhava”… … that loved oozes into every meal you make, even today. Today even if you may have Savita to help, you just being there in the kitchen, brings in so much love to all the meals…
Ma, your “love” is that secret recipe of our every dish and how much we relish it, finger-licking every time… … (I reveal the secret of the lovely dishes we make – its your love and care and am sure all will agree!)!
To remembering waking up to your melodious singing, you are so gifted Ma; to holding your trophies that you’ve won for dance competitions in your younger days, to the wonderful talent in your dramatics, poetry reading (recently it was so wonderful to see you recite the poem that had won you the first price in inter-office competition of central governments, when you were with Income Tax), to listening to your stories of Income Tax days and the raids you used to participate! Leadership has been your other name Ma, so power packed with this quality, a true demonstration of what a wonderful leadership is all about; the events you managed for the colony club, school, home, family, friends… … standing strong as a front runner, such a hands on leadership, carrying people together and making such wonderful things happen! The memories are loaded with all the amazing things you’ve done, the write-up will be doing injustice to every moment of your life’s karmas.
Its wonderful to see you so active even today to manage the overall household and take care of things… You have been through a lot in your life, but without complaints, have only seen the positive side of life, taking on responsibilities with a huge smile, even in the most difficult periods (so many examples… life wasn’t a bed of roses for sure… but you dealt with every thorn, with your love and care, to convert the most difficult moments also into positive outcomes).
Ma, to the world you are my mother … to me you are my world! you can take place of everyone else, but no one can take your place dear… You are my backbone, keeping me up and straight …
You’ve been my anchor in this sea of life, with all its calmness and storms
Inspiring me to do things with a purpose, with a meaning to it; your ethics unparalleled (Yes, being the Rajni of the serial that used to come on TV); always standing up for the righteousness (and believe it, it’s a packed into me – to speak up when things don’t go right even in public places and ensure things get to be done ethically). Your ways of contributing in every work you undertook, your days of managing the club in the colony, the banking work, the administrative work at school… I learnt my work ethics from you, the dedicated services, give your 150%, never worry of the fruit…
You have been a true representation for me for Shree Krishna’s teachings to me – Believe in yourself and do your Karma… (action); worry not about the fruit; it will follow automatically. Doing Karma is in our hands. You always brough focus on “Karma” and it is the fruit of these karmas, which have been bringing loads of blessings to us!
Your learnings will remain with me through my life, and you will continue to be my source of strength always…
I am in gratitude to God always for making me your daughter and giving in you to me the amazing mother I could have ever asked for and if god grants me that wish I so desire, to be a family in you, Baba and Ishita in every life, being born to you and Baba again with Ishita as our darling child!
Ma, love you for what you are… and you mean the world to me!!! Lets celebrate these 50 years of our “Being” … and pray to our almighty God for this wonderful life of togetherness and continue to seek blessings through our life and beyond!!!
As we bring in my 50th tomorrow, together, express our gratitude to loads and loads of family, friends, our associations (the series to continue since there are so many to express, only because of you).... ...
