Series Part 8 … towards my big milestone - 2021 - Golden Celebrations.

25th October holds a very special day for me in my life. As VV Kamath has rightly said, a child gives birth to a mother; so was it for me 21 years ago to be born as a Mother to an amazing daughter Ishita. Such a beautiful feeling of motherhood has been bestowed upon me through Ishita and its my biggest blessing of my life!!!

Ishita celebrates her 21st birthday today, a milestone birthday for her! And as we celebrate this together in UK, I dedicate this gratitude to my “Motherhood” and to my “Darling Ishita”.

Wishing my adorable Ishita, a very astonishing 21st Birthday and seeking blessings from all of you for her always!!!

It was 21 years ago, on a beautiful evening during the festival of Diwali, that Ishita decided to rush into this world – it was Choti Diwali/Narak Chaturdashi Muhurat! The perfect Diwali gift of life that I could have had that year. As we say her first bath was the “Abhyangsnaan” of Narak Chaturdashi with loads of celebrations around and fire-crackers all over!

I feel so blessed to be a “Woman” to be able to have experienced this phase of bearing a child and giving birth to Ishita, and be called by her as “Aai” – what an incredible feeling; I had never imagined till the time I actual went through this phase and held my darling baby Ishita in my hands; a delicate darling on that lovely night of 25th October. All the pains just vanished up in the Air! And this expression of gratitude to my motherhood !!! An honor bestowed onto me by the Almighty of this motherhood especially to a loving daughter in Ishita.

Motherhood brings with it a natural leadership and accountability, a feeling of what happens to the baby is what you to do it every moment. I learnt so much through this motherhood in the last 21 years and dedicate a loads of my learnings to becoming a mother and to Ishita. The biggest lesson that I carry through my parenting and motherhood, is that the success as a parent can be measured through the flourishing future of your child … your karmas, impact your children, and feel blessed that by seeing Ishita grow and flourish, a sense of being a good human sets onto me, it is good karmas and blessings that are shaping such a blessed future.

For me, as I approach my milestone in the next 5 days, the greatest sense fulfilment is when I see Ishita and how she has blossomed into such a wonderful human being, shaped her values, her career and her overall personality to create a name for herself in this world.

Today as she completes her final year of UnderGraduate program at University of Leeds, UK in Law and has a coveted Training Contract with a Magic-circle firm Linklaters, London; I am really gratified…

As she prepares to step into the larger world, all her years of making are still so fresh in my memory; right from the time I held her for the first time, to her every development, feels like just yesterday she completed her 10th with flying colors and went all by herself for the Rotary Youth Exchange Program to Madrid at the age of 15 ½ years;

a tiny tot of first standard being called to hoist the flag by her principal, as a role model student to bearing the house captaincy in her 10th and making her Green House the winning house for the first time;

a delicate darling who loved to make choices of dresses even when she was a year old to walking the ramp at Las Vegas and coveting the Miss Summer International IV and Miss Intelligence Titles; to being recognised as Miss Talent at Gladrags Miss princess competition;

to demonstrating her wonderful dance skills and winning an “Overall female best dancer” in inter-school competition to learning Kathak and completing your Senior Diploma to becoming a part of Junior Dance Company of Shiamak Davar, performing at very interesting shows and overcoming any stage fear; getting a opportunity to be sharing stage with Amitabh Bacchan, Shankar Mahadevan, Adesh Srivatasa and many others…

to getting an opportunity to see the world of advertisement by being a part of the Amul Advertisement to winning fashion shows in her 11th and 12th at Jai Hind including Inter-colleagiate competition in lead roles;

from learning to read and write overcoming her challenge of writing 2, 5, 7, 9, b, d, p and some others alphabets in reverse to winning elocution competitions and being now considered as an excellent at her communication which she now leverages in her law degree;

from a being a baby to flourishing into an individual with her identity!!

I express my deepest gratitude to you my dear Ishita for your understanding as we fought the challenges of life together. Some of life’s decisions taken were not easy on you, and yet you have gone through each phase with so much understanding and faith… a belief in us together !

As we sit together and reflect on these last 21 years, I dedicate to you our journey and respect you for being such a wonderful daughter, grand-daughter … … and most importantly an amazing human being !

Along with you I have loads to thank for being with us and invested themselves to enable us; firstly your Aaji and Aajo, without whom we couldn’t have really got the best values, they have been with you and me through every moment to help us be what we are today; Gool Ma’am, you as your principal, believed in you and your talent, stood by you in every way, encouraged you including beign the mentor for your Youth Exchange program, a life changing experience; all your teachers from school college, various curricular and extra-curricular classes; to loads of your friends across this 21 years… The list is too big to write down, and since so many have touched our life’s, lets take this opportunity to say a big thank you to each one of them; we really appreciate every blessing from each one of you!!!

I’m sure you now understand my delight of parenting and motherhood which really to see this amazing transition of my darling Ishita from being so physically a part of me to blossoming into a wonderful human being and now being mentally intertwined with me, while moving out of the nest and making her own Identity.

Ishita, I am so proud of you, and it is a wonderful feeling to be known as your mother; express my deepest gratitude to believe in yourself and me; to make every milestone of yours such a wonderful part of our life’s journey…
