By Anupama Vaidya.    2024 passed in the blink of an eye, almost at lightning speed, serving as a poignant reminder to me that when we infuse each moment with life, ‘Life’ in turn, offers us treasures to cherish - moments to learn from, grow in and nourish our souls!   This year has been a journey of both strength and vulnerability, challenging me to push my boundaries and create a bridge to the years ahead. A year of Blessings: Seeing my daughter Ishita complete her Masters in Law and the Solicitor’s Qualifying Examination, and embark on her corporate journey as a Trainee Solicitor with Linklaters in London, has been a joy and profound sense of realization of how much she has grown. As a parent, witnessing her confidently step into adulthood is both humbling and nostalgic. Time has a way of reminding us how fleeting it is, and yet, the fruits of love, guidance, and support ripen in the most beautiful ways. A year of Awakening:   The loss of friends this year op...

By Anupama Vaidya with Sunita Fernandes John 3:16 : "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life ." One of the greatest joys in my life is having attended the wonderful St. Ursula's High School, a Swiss missionary school in my hometown, Nigdi, Pune. As the enchanting Christmas season approaches, memories of my school days flood my mind. From crafting the crib in the classroom to the delightful Christmas carols and the charming Christmas play in the school auditorium, to the heartwarming Christmas mass and the heartfelt wishes that marked our upbringing! The Season of Christmas evokes such a nostalgic feeling, enveloping us in an atmosphere of pure joy and happiness. Homes, shops, and malls are adorned with festive decorations and twinkling lights, creating a magical ambiance that spreads throughout the surroundings. Every year for me this festival brings in a fresh breath to closure of the...

By Anupama Vaidya with Sunita Fernandes.             December 22nd is celebrated as the   “National Mathematics Day” , honoring “Srinivasa Ramanujan” , the self-taught mathematical genius whose groundbreaking work in number theory and infinite series continues to inspire us. His brilliance is immortalized in stories like the Hardy-Ramanujan Number (1729). When mathematician G.H. Hardy visited Ramanujan in the hospital, he remarked on the taxi number being dull (1729). Ramanujan replied: "No, it’s a very interesting number!" , Why? 1729 = 1³ + 12³ = 9³ + 10³, it is the smallest number expressible as the sum of two different cubes in two different ways!!! This day stands as a tribute to India’s profound mathematical heritage, spanning across generation. From the pioneering contributions of Aryabhata, Brahmagupta, Ramanujan to the break-through model day mathematicians, India’s mathematical legacy is unparalleled. It encompasses the Vedic pr...
